It's been a few days since the album came out, and I've got LOTS to say. We packed our release show so full that you couldn't even move. Safety-wise, definitely a no-no, however, it was awesome having all those people there for our special day.
Gold Star forgot their merch in Joplin, which is very sad for the general public, but not for me, because we're headed up there this weekend and I'm gonna load up on all sorts of fun Gold Star trinkets. They played an awesome grunge cover of Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" and it changed me. I'm a new man after hearing it.
Midnight Wagon slayed like always. Ian brought his BUFF friend who picked him up during his guitar solo. I need a buff friend!! Also, Ian and Dan kissed, due to the audience's chanting. I'm not jealous. Seriously.
Tomorrow, I'm calling out of work to make some AWESOME Idle Valley T-shirts. I'm being joined by the lovely Daniel and Brice. We're making the pilgrimage up to Fayetteville to learn how to screen print from Dan's super swag older brother, Josh. Don't tell my job!
We're hoping to have shirts to bring to the show we have that night, with a super awesome band called HORSEBITCH! I just love saying that name. Also being joined by Sad Palomino which is super cool because when I was but a young lad, I walked into Block Street Records and perused the local artists section. I saw Sad Palomino's tape and I liked the cover art, so I bought it (insert sunglasses emoji). I actually really liked the music too, but that was just a plus.
In other news, Dan and I played our best ever Zombies game a couple days ago. I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Let me set the scene.
Its the day after the big show, everyone's sleepy, feeling a little weak, and we ain't got shit to do. Dan sends me a text, implying I should come pick him up and take him to The Crate, and he'll bring his PS4 and we can play Zombies in Spaceland. I instantly fell in love with this idea.
I strap up my boots and kiss my cats goodbye, as I embark on the journey to deliver Dan and the PS4 safely to The Crate. My mind floods with memories of previous Zombies games played with dan, all the zombie souls I've ripped from their flesh, all the tickets I've earned from N13L, and all the unsuccesful attempts at completing the easter egg.
This game was special, as it was our first time back in the zombie world after a warranted 3 month zombie hiatus. We played for over an hour, and got our highest score that we've ever gotten on this map, before eventually succumbing to the injuries around round 24. I killed almost 600 zombies and Dan killed nearly 500. Let's break down our strategies.
The most important thing is playing with an awesome Zombies partner. In my case, I'm incredibly lucky to have someone like Dan, who is the GOAT and knows the special tricks on the map, and is overall an all-star gamer.
The second most important thing, that we JUST NOW found out, is that you have to take breaks during the game. Me and Dan paused the game twice to stretch and smoke some weed, and those breaks made all the difference.
Before our hiatus, we weren't taking breaks during the game. I think that is why we just beat our high score on our first game back.
The third most important thing is love because with love all things will prosper.
